Crossroads at the Spring: A Pictorial History of Springfield, Missouri
Published in Hardcover by Donning Marketing Company (November, 1997)
Authors: Shanna Boyle, Julie March, and Mo.) History Museum for Springfield-Greene County (Springfield
Average review score:

An excellent photographic study of Springfield, MO
Although I have owned this book for some time, I still find myself coming back to its cornucopia of sometimes-rare photographs of Springfield. In a city that preserves little of its history, CROSSROADS gives the reader glimpses into the past glories of Springfield. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to learn more about Springfield, or just treasures the historical lifeblood of the town.

Essential Office Text
I have NEVER had a more useful text in my office!! Gives a clear approach to common and often complex problems faced in outpatient and inpatient medicine. Includes topics such as thyroid nodule, hyponatremia (and other electrolyte abnormalities), elevated transaminases, fatigue, chronic diarrhea, constipation, solitary pulmonary nodule, mediastinal adenopathy, and really anything else you can think of!! I have never not been able to find what I needed quickly and easily. A must have for an busy office when you need to know what to do without all the peripheral talk!! I wish they had continue this series in Peds and OB/Gyn (there are old ones in these fields)as they were just as valuable!! An investment you won't regret. Great for residents!!

Desperate Measures: 90 Unintimidating Recipes for the Domestically Inept

Tasty and Fancy without the Fuss
Beautiful photography and a clever theme make this my favorite cookbook. I can't stand getting a really cool looking cookbook and then never finding a recipe that I want to make or only making one. I've had this cookbook for a few years and have tried many of the recipes. They are easy to prepare, but they don't look or sound like it. Perfect for entertaining. The best bread pudding recipe ever!!

Spontaneous Combustion

Psychologist Jacqui Hughes rarely lost her cool. Then a series of suspicious fires sent sexy fire fighter Scott Llewellyn into her life, and he began wreaking havoc with her heart.

To Jacqui's consternation, Scott was convinced the blazes were the work of a pyromaniac. Driven by demons Jacqio didn't understand, Scott was determined to stand between her and danger. And his blunt sensuality, old- fashioned values and downright aggravating overprotective streak only added to the heat raging between them.

But could Kacqui convince her self-appointed knight in shining armor that she was more than just a damsel in distress? She didn't want a hero- she needed a flesh- and -blood man to love.

The Diaries of Nikolay Punin : 1904-1953
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Texas Press (December, 1999)
Authors: Nikolaya Punin, Sidney Monas, and Jennifer Greene Krupala
Average review score:

A Riveting Piece
This inciteful look into the life of Punin is quite a page turner. From references to his affair with Akhmatova to reflections on the politics of the time, the diaries provide a rare chronicle of the early Soviet era. The tactful translation is smooth and easy to comprehend. Jennifer Greene Krupala is a very talented translator and does great justice to the diaries of Nikolay Punin; it is obvious that she has a deep understanding of the work and a strong command of the Russian language.

Ryan's reveiw
I think this is a good magazine, it gives in depth reports on all the riders it can also hook you up with alot of gear. It also has a great picture selection and they get great photo graphs. The only thing wrong with this magazine is that it is not long enough. It is to short they need to put more pictures and Reviews. If you like dirt bikes than subscribe to this magazine. Or even if you just like the pictures they have a great selection.

Authors: Carol Greene, Steven Greene, and Steven Dobson
Average review score:

The life of a great poet
"Emily Dickinson: American Poet," with text by Carol Greene and illustrations by Steven Dobson, is a biography of the great 19th century American poet. Directed towards younger readers, this book tells Emily's story with simple language and plentiful visual aids.

Steven Dobson's evocative full-color illustrations are complemented by black-and-white reproductions of photographs, paintings, and other visual records from Emily's era. We get to see Emily at various stages of her life, and we also see her family, her friends, and the home she lived in. Greene's text takes us from Emily's childhood to the end of her life. Greene pays particular attention to Emily's personal relationships, and includes lines from some of her best-known poems.

This book is a fine introduction to Emily Dickinson's world and to her art. If your child enjoys this book, be sure to share some of Emily's poems with him or her.
